Whether you're picking up a fly rod for the very first time or chasing a lifelong dream of fishing New Zealand's world-renowned rivers, my goal is the same: to create an experience that leaves you feeling more confident and happy than when you arrived. Through thoughtful, professional guiding, genuine Kiwi hospitality and a passion for sharing New Zealand's wild places, I hope to inspire a lifelong connection with fly fishing and the outdoors.
Why I do what I do
I wasn't born into fly fishing, and I certainly didn't know everything when I started. Like many people, I remember feeling overwhelmed by unfamiliar words and terms, everybody had advice to give and wondering whether I’d ever really belong on the river. I created Stray South because I wanted to become the person I needed when I was learning to fly fish. Someone patient. Someone encouraging. Someone who believed learning should be enjoyable, practical and free from intimidation. Today, that philosophy shapes every guided day, workshop and women’s fly fishing experience.
