Wāhine on the Water| Women’s Fly Fishing Weekend

  • Stray South Fishing Outfitters (map)

Wāhine on the Water is a carefully curated three-day, two-night event, designed for ladies ready to try something new. Set in an idyllic corner of Southland, this ultimate girls’ weekend blends fly fishing and connection in nature. A small group for focused and quality tuition and enjoyment.

Come Curious. Leave Capable.

Sometimes we just need an environment where we feel comfortable to learn, feel free to ask questions and have a go without feeling like we have to prove ourselves.
This is a weekend where you will have the space to learn new skills, build confidence and meet like-minded women to share your experience with.

You can pay your deposit $338 above, or pay the full amount $1,690 here

Over the weekend, you’ll:

  • Be guided through the foundations of fly fishing in a hands-on, approachable way

  • Learn how to cast, read water, and understand trout behaviour

  • Learn about the resources you need to be safe and stay safe on your outdoors adventures

  • Share meals and relaxed moments to connect

  • Build the confidence to continue your fly fishing journey beyond the weekend

No prior experience is needed — just a willingness to step in and give something new a go.

To keep the experience personal and high quality, this weekend is limited to 6 wāhine.

What’s included:

  • 2 nights accommodation

  • All meals catered across the weekend — BYO alcohol

  • Professional fly fishing instruction and guiding

  • Use of rods, reels, and all required gear if required

  • NZ fishing licence for the weekend

  • A small welcome pack and take-home resources

If you’ve been craving more time outdoors, or looking for a place to start something new, this is a considered, supportive place to begin.
You’ll leave with the foundations to keep going — and the confidence to give it a go on your own.

BOOK NOW, you will not want to miss out.
